Job Summary

The Entertainment Manager supports the Rigging team within the Shared Entertainment Technical Services team (SETS) at the Walt Disney World Resort, leading the rigging technician team in the areas of safety, regulatory guidelines, training, daily operations, special event development and production planning.

You Will

  • Collaborate with Disney Live Entertainment (DLE) Technical Design teams, domestic rigging teams, and build positive relationships with all related collaborators and partners

  • Lead the rigging team in all areas of safety, in accordance with regulatory guidelines and conduct critical training

  • Be responsible for daily rigging operations, special event development and production planning

  • Coordinate the Walt Disney World SPRAT (Rope Access) program, maintenance of the Walt Disney World Rigging workshop, including equipment inspections and certifications, as well as SETS warehouse operations and assets

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with rigging teams domestically

You Will Have

  • 3 to 5 years professional experience in theatrical or event production and/or stage management

  • Proven experience with STCU/IATSE bargaining agreements as well as rigging technician management

  • Knowledge of rigging equipment, including overhead structure design safety guidelines

  • Experience in budget and schedule creation and management with attention to detail

  • Familiarity with financial & project systems such as R2, SAP, special event budget development, tracking & reporting

  • Knowledge of rigging industry and vendor interface

  • Proven successful team-building experience

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Project

  • Knowledge of business practices and procedures

Required Education

  • High School degree or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • B.A. or B.S. in technical entertainment field or equivalent
