Draftsman/Designer - Solidworks/CAD
Job description
Handling Systems is a well established, family owned, innovative design and crane manufacturing company for the industrial and material handling industry. With 62 years in business and a large international distribution network, Handling Systems is looking to grow their market share with current product renovations and new product design.
The mechanical designer will take new customer orders and work with the sales staff and chief engineer to create approval drawings to match the customers specifications. The designer will also be responsible for creating BOMs and packaging slips along with production release prints for the factory. This role will also include creation proposal drawings and collaboration with engineering and sales to create alternative designs of standard products and help stream line the order to release process. Experience in Solidworks works is a must!
- Using Solid Works 3D CAD software, produce standard, manufacture-ready designs; detail parts, and create mechanical drawings, assembly prints and specifications that enable the production team to correctly fabricate and assemble all engineering output.
- Review specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
- Maintain close communication, problem-solving and collaboration with the production team to ensure proper assembly and operation of completed designs; modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
- Communicate with sales staff to quote custom jobs and create solutions for unique material handling applications
- Focus on concepts and designs with the potential for repeatability and standardization to maximize efficiency and profitability and minimize errors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
