POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Leadership and Organizational Management will develop, implement, and administer academic and operational features of the Leadership and Organizational Management (LOM) program for EMU. The LOM director will teach nine semester hours in the program each academic year as part of load. The director is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training adjunct faculty. The director will serve as the internal and external liaison for the program, building partnerships that will benefit the program and their graduates. The director will have allotted time to research/write for publication, topics that align with the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the University. Will serve on university and/or Lancaster committees as appointed. This position is supported by the Program Manager at EMU Lancaster

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: A terminal degree in an area related to Leadership, Management, Organization Development, Higher Education Administration, or Adult Education preferred. Master’s degree in related field required.

EXPERIENCE: Administrative and teaching experience in higher education. Special interest in adult learners, workforce development, and collaborating with community and industry is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Within the scope of a typical office environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The director will develop, implement, and administer academic and operational features of the Leadership and Organizational Management program for EMU.
• Provide leadership and vision for all aspects of the programs, including curriculum design, program delivery and focus, and planning and management of the budget are provided.
• The director participates in strategic planning for the site and the program including the development of goals, objectives, and action plans
• The LOM director will teach nine semester hours in the program each academic year as part of load. (Suggested courses: LOM320, LOM405, and LOM460)
• Seek new opportunities for growth and expansion of the Leadership programs
• Provide oversight of the General Education and AA in Business Administration and course offerings for the Lancaster site.
• The director will chair the PA-LOM advisory committee.
• Academic program policies are established and communicated.
• Annual program budget is developed and monitored.
• Required assessment processes are implemented and data reported annually.
• Strategic and long-range planning is completed in keeping with the University WEAVE process.

Faculty Oversight

• Faculty are recruited and hired as needed.
• Orientation of faculty is facilitated in accordance with EMU at Lancaster procedures.
• Faculty performance is evaluated and documented.
• Student learning outcomes are assessed and continuing improvement is facilitated.
• Strategic communication among faculty and staff is coordinated.
• Periodic faculty meetings for the purpose of curriculum coordination are conducted.

Student Advising

• The director will provide academic advising in collaboration with the Associate Registrar/Student Advisor.
• The director will collaborate with EMU marketing, communications, and admissions personnel to recruit students and market the program.

Program Development (scholarships) and Marketing

• The director serves as spokesperson for the program.
• Work with the Associate Director of Marketing and Communication to establish, implement, and evaluate LOM marketing strategy plan.

• Relationships with the business community and other key stakeholders in the community and beyond our geographic region for a robust online program.
• Scholarship opportunities for LOM students are managed and grown.
