PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Engineering responsibilities are to oversee product engineering operations and ensure that proper engineering procedures are followed. Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair of operations equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company. Demonstrate proactive, positive, “can-do” leadership by setting an example for subordinates to follow. Facility responsibilities managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. The position plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and coordinates the work of staff.
- Oversees Project Engineering and Facilities staff and ensures that they meet goals and objectives.
- Recruits additional staff as needed.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Provides training and mentoring as needed.
- Consults with Chief Operating Officer and VP, Operations to create long-range operating and manufacturing goals specific to the needs of the organization.
- Develops new products from concept to testing to production.
- Collaborates with marketing department to determine market potential for new products.
- Oversees progress and timeliness of projects.
- Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
- Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree in engineering or Business Administration preferred
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and is improvement and quality driven.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and write in English.

- Communication Proficiency.
- Problem Solving/Analysis.
- Project Management.
- Technical training in plant engineering or factory/plant maintenance.
- Proficient in the use of Visio and CAD or other related drafting software
- Two or more years’ experience in a cGMP environment is preferred.
CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience in HVAC, construction, USP Water Systems, and other facility related equipment.
- Electrical experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical diagrams, and other facility related drawings.
- Extra considerations offered to candidates with cGMP, FDA and/ medical device experience.
- Experience with CAD and Visio.
