Job description
As a Senior Customer Development Chemist, you will support activities managing pretreatment and electrocoat products for all North America Auto OEM customers. This will encompass formulation, preparation and application of coatings, and testing these coatings against many regional specifications and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct development work such as the formulation, application and testing of pretreatment and electrocoat products.
- Work with manager in setting smart project goals and milestones against bold timelines.
- Work with the commercial and the field organization informally and formally for ongoing project work.
- Apply root cause analysis and BPI tools to lead resolution of manufacturing and field issues.
- Maintain results through written and verbal summaries, coatings reports, test drill presentations, and project updates.
- Work with regional labs; and together with Research and Development and other departments on the development of new product platforms globally.
- Simulate customer line conditions to troubleshoot field issues and to increase the speed and success rate of product launches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Science Degree in Chemistry or related Engineering or Science field
- At least 4 years of experience
- Work experience in coatings, or substrate protection systems.
