COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR

Van Buren County, Michigan (population 75,677) seeks a proven leader to serve as their next County Administrator. Van Buren County is home to some of America’s best blueberry and grape crops and world-famous beaches. Located in Southwest Michigan, Van Buren County attracts visitors from across the state and is regarded as a favorite playground for Metro Chicago residents. The City of Chicago is an easy two hour drive from Van Buren. Boasting the Van Buren State Park and the Kal-Haven Trail, Van Buren County is teeming with numerous inland lakes and two major rivers.

The county seat is located just off Interstate 94 in Paw Paw. Each September, the City of Paw Paw hosts the Paw Paw Wine and Harvest Festival. The festival draws thousands to the annual “Taste of Van Buren County.” Throughout the county landscape you will find award-winning vineyards and an abundance of fruit stands. The ideal candidate will bring municipal experience, proven budgetary skills, someone who understands the importance of public relations and can demonstrate a history of strong visionary leadership. The next County Administrator will oversee a team of 272 and an annual budget of $80,000,000. The Administrator reports to a seven-member Board of Commissioners who are elected by districts.
