JOB SUMMARY: Cook

We are looking for someone who is passionate about food to join our staff at North East Whitewater Lodge, Campground & Guide Service. We have a passionate chef who has a zest for food who you will be working with. We are looking for someone who works well with others and has strong communication skills but can also work independently. You will complete food prepping tasks, prepare a small lunch menu, put together picnic lunches, and are responsible for kitchen cleanliness. Ensures the overall guest experience through creating a delicious meal and pleasant dining experience for our guests. We are looking for someone to start ASAP!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with stocking and setting up kitchen stations
  • Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
  • Preparing the menu foods based on the chefs guidance
  • Working with others to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Washing and sanitizing the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing equipment at the end of shifts
  • Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
  • Maintain equipment and make sure it’s in working order and notify superiors on any issues with equipment or facilities
  • Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Culinary degree not required, experience working in a kitchen/restaurant is a plus
  • Servsafe certificate preferred
  • Skill or experience with performing culinary knife techniques
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, varied, and busy work environment.
  • An open-minded, inclusive attitude is a must
  • Working quickly without compromising quality
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Flexibility with a positive attitude is key
  • Knowledge of English language

WORKING CONDITIONS

· (1) Part and (1) Full-time position available

· Requires weekends, holidays, and evenings.

· Ability to lift 50lbs

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Adheres to the company dress code.
