The school is located at the base of Mount Ascutney, and the school and community arecommitted to place-based learning. Our school works together as a learning community, and collaboration withcolleagues, community organizations, and individuals is an essential component to our success.Our curriculum is grounded in best practices in multi-age and universal design for learning to support our students.We would like to welcome a new staff member that is enthusiastic about teaching elementary students, is committedto our values of place-based and student autonomy, and is a skilled teacher that is excited to collaborate, and learnalongside others.Qualifications: Vermont State certification in teaching in Elementary education.B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teachingPosition Responsibilities? Leads in as Multi-age classroom by taking responsibility for all students learning.?

Provides an environment in which each child has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults byencouraging a climate that is inviting, respectful, supportive, inclusive, and flexible.? Treats students as individuals by maintaining high expectations for all students; and by appreciatingdifferences and valuing contributions.? Works collaboratively with the families and significant adults in the lives of their students by improvingcommunication and collaboration between the school and the home and community.? Knows the ways in which learning takes place and the appropriate levels of intellectual, physical, social,and emotional development of students.?

Plans instruction appropriate for students by collaborating with colleagues? Integrates and utilizes technology in instruction by knowing when and how to use technology to maximizestudent learning.? Helps students develop critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills by encouraging students to askquestions, think creatively, and be curious? Uses a variety of methods to assess what each student has learned by using multiple indicators to evaluatestudent progress.?

Creates an active and engaging learning environment where students are inspired to obtain a deeperknowledge of the subjects they're studying.Knowledge Skills and Ability Required (or willingness to learn): ? Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentialfunctions.? Knowledge of Trauma-informed instruction preferred? Knowledge of Responsive Classroom and Collaborative Problem Solving preferred?

Experience in Place-based Based Learning preferred? Development of Self-Determined Learning
