Job Title: After-School Program Facilitator

Pay: $22.00 per hour/ Approximately 10 - 25 hours per week

Sign-On Bonus: $200

• To be eligible for the Sign-on Bonus, the new hire must remain in the position for 30 days after their date of hire.

Summary:

The after-school program facilitator leads our anti-tobacco and anti-smoking programs at various middle and high schools throughout the Los Angeles area. Sessions are held Monday - Thursday from 2PM - 6PM with one school per day, facilitators will be responsible for 4 schools in a week. On Fridays from 10AM - 1PM, we have collaborative meetings with all facilitators and program coordinator.

This position will be assigned to multiple school sites and therefore the facilitator must be willing to drive to different school sites in Los Angeles area. Personal vehicle required with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities:

Sessions: Students participate in sessions using a project-based curriculum that includes leadership, self-reflection arts and crafts activities, and a community service project. These activities are scheduled regularly throughout the school year during the after-school program. Facilitators will lead a 1-hour session with 30 mins prep before and 30 mins clean up post-session (2 hours total per day).

Service-Learning Project/ Campaign: Project-related activities such as learning to write a business letter, email, or make a business call to engage a local community partner. Creating a school-wide campaign on their school campus.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Lead ice breakers, curriculum and educational activities.
• Facilitates culminating events for students.
• Responsible for carrying and organizing all supplies for the program.
• Responsible for picking up supplies from the EduCare main office and warehouse in Van Nuys.
• Responsible for ordering pizza at each session.
• Responsible for all program documenting (Student Registration forms, Student Sign in and out forms, and Field Trip paperwork)
• Responsible for assisting at College Day for students.
• Responsible for attending trainings, meetings, and coaching sessions.

Job Requirements:

• Must be available Monday-Thursday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM and Friday 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Schedule may be adjusted due to early dismal and BTB/EduCare Meetings)
• EduCare Foundation has a vaccine mandate that requires all employees to be fully vaccinated.
• Experience working with pre-teens, teens, and young adults.
• Personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• Bilingual Preferred, English/Spanish.

Compensation

• You will be paid for up to three hours (3) each session at $22 per hour. This encompasses the session itself, preparation, and post-session room clean-up.
• Mileage will be reimbursed at 65 cents per mile from your home to school site and back.

Other Qualifications:

• The must provide proof of a negative Tuberculosis test within 60 days of hire date. Must also secure and maintain a CPR/First Aid certification and attend annual Risk Management Training.
