Nature of Work
Assignments will vary, depending on the season of the year and involve working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Work involves the safe operation of welding and fabrication equipment, light duty trucks, and other manual or power tools used in the work.
Examples of Work
- Repairs and maintains building lock and key systems; maintains hardware for doors, such as door knobs, closures, hinges, panic devices, thresholds, and other related items.
- Welds and repairs playground equipment, shovels, racks, mower trailers, and other related tools and implements.
- Picks up and delivers materials and supplies for maintenance and repair activities, schools and departments, and community organizations, using a light duty truck.
- Trouble-shoots minor automotive and low-voltage electrical problems, e.g., changing fuses and light bulbs, and tracing system shorts.
- Assists other trades/maintenance workers as part of a crew on a variety of skilled and semi-skilled projects.
- Performs routine and general maintenance on building systems – drywall repair, painting, and plumbing systems
- Basic carpentry skills, Framing walls, Doors and windows, siding repair, use of power tools saws, drills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Oregon Driver's License
- State of Oregon certification or testing of back flow devices
- FBI fingerprint and background check
- New staff must be fully vaccinated to meet the COVID-19 vaccine mandate or have an approved exception.
