The Senior Credit Analyst will will analyze counterparty credit risk daily for compliance and reporting for domestic and export customers. Monitors the SAP credit hold queue. Is responsible for collection of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base and all other aspects of collections, resolving customer billing problems and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. Maintains the credit files and credit and collection system. Responsible for oversight of the credit insurance program. When required, works on special projects as directed by the Manager, Credit & Collections. This position will report to the Manager, Credit & Collections of Arkema Inc. The position has no direct reports.


Key Activities and Responsibilities


  • Aggressively pursue past due accounts by phone or email to improve collection metrics. (40%)
  • Perform credit reviews of customers per corporate policy up to $250k. (15%)
  • Monitor SAP credit hold queue and coordinate collection efforts to ensure timely payment. (10%)
  • Provide guidance & recommendations to Manager for adjustments to credit limits greater than $250k. (5%)
  • When deemed collectable, resolve client-billing problems in a timely manner. (5%)
  • Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss with BU Management. (5%)
  • Maintain customer collections contact information in the Collection Management System. (5%)
  • Maintain customer credit files. (5%)
  • Provide backup support across the credit/collections area as needed. (5%)
  • Manage Escheat items annually (5%)


Context and Environment

  • This position is located in the North American Headquarters of the Arkema Group. The position has regular contact with people in the business groups and outside customers, which requires an ability to communicate knowledge of the issues in a manner that provides comfort to these individuals. The position must present a knowledgeable and professional image to various outside contacts, as well, as it represents Arkema Inc.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)


Demonstrated Competencies

  • This position requires a high level of experience in all areas of credit management and demands a high level of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • A thorough knowledge of the credit markets and ability to make credit decisions on short notice is required.
  • The jobholder must have the ability to understand the financials statements of a company to make proper credit decisions.
  • It is also necessary that the jobholder have strong interpersonal and good communication skills, both verbal and written. Solve problems creatively and independently.
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents


Required Education/Qualifications/Work Experience

  • A BS/BA in Finance or Accounting with 7+ years of related job experience is required; in lieu of degree, 10+ years relevant Finance / Credit Analyst experience
  • Knowledge in using SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) preferred.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements required.
  • A thorough knowledge of credit related laws required. Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
