Job Title: Coordinator of Human Resources Operations
Salary Schedule: Central Office Administrator
Reports To: Executive Director of Human Resources Operations
Salary Grade: Coordinator
Work Location: Lincoln Center
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work Schedule: 12 Month
The Coordinator of HR Operations manages several essential functions within the HR division in support of meeting the needs of district employees. These functions include Workers Compensation, Unemployment, Employee Leave Administration, including administering disability, and Personnel Records. This position in collaboration with the CHRO and other school system leaders ensures the overall adherence to federal and state employment statutes and all compliance reporting related to the above functions.
Essential Duties

Supports all aspects of employee leave eligibility and administration -
Responds to questions and concerns from staff regarding the procedures required to engage workers compensation, employee leave, and unemployment benefits.

Monitor eligible district employees’ compliance in acquiring, utilizing, or voluntarily sharing accumulate leave quotas

Support the CHRO in the reviewing and updating policies/guidelines related to employee leave acquisition or usage

Serves as the district point of contact for all matter related to the maintenance, access, and retention of district employee personnel records

Collaborates with HR leadership, district counsel/workers compensation insurance vendors, and the appropriate state agencies in the processing of or responding to workers compensation and/or unemployment claims

Administers disability claims

Collaborates with HR leadership and district council/records management vendors when determining public access to or the destruction of confidential personnel records.

Works with HR leadership in gathering and analyzing data to develop, implement, review, and monitor the districts process related to necessary change to the employee leave process

Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Educational Administration, or closely related field -
Preferred Certification/Licensure: Master’s Degree or SHRM certification

Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible management level experience which includes substantial experience/skills in Human Resources, organizational management, and budget and fiscal management preferably in a public school or public sector environment

Thorough knowledge of principles, procedures, and practices of public personnel administration

Ability to learn and apply new skills timely and effectively

Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Effective oral and written communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people, personalities, and situations

Ability to respond quickly to multiple and varied activities, and plan and manage projects within time constraints

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of overly sensitive matters and information

Ability to analyze facts and present recommendations effectively in oral and written form

Ability to handle difficult situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and impartially

Ability to work independently without close supervision

Ability to complete complex tasks and minimize errors with diligence

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. -
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

This position must work on-site, in a standard office environment, and will often come into direct contact with CHCCS staff, students, and the public.

Routine physical activities associated with a normal office environment with an up to 20 lb lifting requirement
