The assistant manager will oversee the work of pizza staff members, such as cooks, cashiers, and delivery people. Customer service skills are important, as the assistant manager will interact face to face with customers. When customers are dissatisfied with things, such as service and food quality, the assistant manager will have to remedy the situation. They will have restaurant knowledge, be hands on in the kitchen, oven, customer service & more.

In order to build sales, it is important to be friendly, so that customers will return in the future and refer their contacts to the store. The assistant manager may also be expected to lead or aid in marketing efforts, in order to reach new customers. Keeping inventory is often one of the duties involved to make sure that supplies are reordered when they are low. The assistant manager will often be expected to teach and train new staff members. Interviewing and hiring new staff members may also be performed by the assistant manager.

A high school diploma is needed, along with experience working in a pizza store or other casual restaurant. In some cases, the assistant manager will be expected to be able to perform all of the roles in the restaurant, so that it is possible to stand in for other staff members.

Assistant Manager, Pizza Store Tasks

  • Maintain fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and ensure products are consistent with company quality standards.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, take disciplinary action, motivate and train employees.
  • Assist Restaurant Manager in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members.
  • Assist profit and loss management by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, and more.
  • Ensure local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy are met.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
