Summary:

To supervise juvenile court wards' safety and security and provide positive reinforcement and discipline.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and ensure the safety and security of all residents and facility staff.
• Possess clear knowledge of and adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
• Ensure individual and group interaction with residents.
• Conduct individual and group interactions with co-workers and administration.
• Paperwork/information management

Qualifications

Education: Two (2) years of college in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or related human services, with an undergraduate degree preferred. A minimum of 30 college credit hours in the related field is required.

Experience: Experience working with juveniles is required; working with troubled youths is preferred.

• Interact with residents and exercise control over or restrain residents at times of outbursts to prevent injury to staff, other residents, or themselves.
• Complete behavior management information charts, logs, and written reports.
• Communicate with co-workers and residents.

Youth Services II:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or related human services, completing an undergraduate degree, preferred, or M.J.I. certification.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience working with juveniles is required; work with troubled youths is preferred.
