Youth Employment Specialist

One (1)/Full-Time/Non-Exempt/$21.00 - $22.05 per hour (DOE)

Pay differentials offered - must qualify through testing or verification for the following special competencies.

• Language Translation - Bi-cultural Spanish ($1.00 per hour)

• Bimodal Bilingualism - ASL Sign Language - Interpret from American Sign Language (ASL) to English, and English to ASL. ($1.00 per hour)

Responsible for obtaining & securing employment for adults and youth participants, assisting in job readiness, case management & retention activities. Performs a variety of duties involved with assisting adults and at-risk youth, age 15-25 in meeting their employment & educational goals; provide career counseling & assessment services; identify & meet training needs; provide career coaching, work-experience placement, as well as ongoing monitoring & follow up; ensure performance goals are met and regulations are always followed for the various employment programs that are provided. Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position may work within ALL other agency programs, consistent with their scope of practice, on a as needed basis. In addition, may require occasional flexible work schedule to meet the individualized needs of each client.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CA Driver's License, Current Auto Insurance, Clean DMV Printout, clear background check w/ DOJ, CACI, FBI, CPR and First Aid Certified.

TB Test and Physical at the time of employment.
