Purpose: Looking to get into the industry of construction or have a love for all things automotive and repair? We have a current opening for a Yard/Parts Runner to support our mechanics team in Campbell, CA. This position is responsible for aiding with facilities clean up and maintenance and picking up and delivering parts to various locations.


Environment:
WVCC is a construction company specializing in underground utilities. West Valley’s corporate office is in Campbell with Operations facilities located in Campbell, Bakersfield, Concord, Fresno, Redwood City, Sacramento, Salinas, Stockton, Visalia, Chico, and Hayward. A satellite office is also located in Carson City, Nevada. The Company has more than 500 employees during peak periods, many of whom are represented by one of four unions.


The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management, as appropriate, may modify this job description.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:

  • Parts washing.
  • Pressure washing trucks and equipment.
  • Repair shop clean up.
  • Working with construction equipment such as wheel loaders, backhoes, forklifts, light and heavy trucks, and handheld equipment.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Helping crews getting setup and out to the field.
  • Driving trucks to pick up parts at various locations.
  • Assisting mechanics as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Driving experience.
  • Current DMV printout.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.

Salary:

  • $18.00/hour -$23.00/hour

Physical Requirements:
Exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dust, dirt, grease, motor oil, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, and traffic hazards. Ability to lift to and or carry weights up to 50lbs, push and pull parts, materials, and supplies for storing and delivery and distribution. Additionally, be able to stoop, bend, twist, climb stairs, carry large objects, and be active for long periods of time.
