The position

• co-design of a novel experimental endstation for THz streaking experiments of liquids
• development of a liquid jet system for the new endstation

Requirements

• PhD degree in physics, chemistry or equivalent
• scientific interest in ultrafast chemistry with a focus on X-ray spectroscopy of liquids
• motivation for developing a research program on time-resolved X-ray spectroscopy including liquid-jet samples
• experience in (time-resolved) X-ray spectroscopies and THz streaking of liquids
• experience with performing experiments at synchrotrons, free-electron-laser, or other large-scale facilities
• experience in microscopic single liquid and flat jets
• excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work in a multi-lingual, multi-disciplinary team, knowledge of German is an asset
