Weatherization Field Technician - Infrastructure
Job description
Position Summary
The Weatherization Technician installs or assists in the workmanlike installation of weatherization measures identified during the energy audit, documents measures installed and provides quality customer services to clients participating in the Weatherization Assistance Program.
Specific Job Duties
The major duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Installs measures identified during the energy audit. (including but not limited to insulating, air sealing, repairing minor plumbing/electrical issues, and any other weatherization measures identified.)
- Provide quality customer service to clients during the commission of weatherization services.
- Assists the Weatherization Project Manager I/II/III with blower door diagnostic testing/air sealing, combustion appliance safety testing; inspections, testing of duct/distribution systems.
- Assists the Weatherization Project Manager I/II/III with post-work inspections.
- Assists the Weatherization Project Manager I/II/III with all diagnostic tests—blower door/pressure pan/zonal/metering.
- Assists the Weatherization Project Manager I/II/III with completing assessment books according to State Standards.
- Complete job work orders as directed.
- Transport materials as needed.
- Keep a log of in-house materials used for home energy purposes.
- Maintain inventory and maintenance records for equipment.
- Able to work efficiently on computers.
- Attends scheduled Weatherization training as directed by Energy Director.
- Learn the whole-house approach to providing weatherization services.
- Report/communicate on an ongoing basis with supervisor.
- Maintain CPR certification
Other duties include occasionally preparing financial data (i.e., logs of materials and labor costs by client job). The Weatherization Project Manager II will be expected to work cooperatively with other housing staff to meet the goals and objectives of the Weatherization Department

Certificates & Licenses

Education
Must be at least 21 years of age, high school graduate or equivalent.
Experience
Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the field is preferred. Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with experience in databases.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of the Internet. Must be able to learn program software reporting systems within 90 days of employment to input and monitor data and prepare required documents.

- Must be able to work in multiple locations with a base location in Burke County, NC, may have use of a company vehicle.
