The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Helper / Operator to join our Wilcox warehouse team in Green Bay, WI working on 1st shift.

Successful candidates will handle the following responsibilities as indicated below:

  • Crates, packages and bands product
  • Assembles crates, pallets and skids
  • Loads and unloads product onto and off trucks
  • Receives, sorts and stocks product
  • Assembles customer orders
  • Sets up and operates equipment to include shot blaster, straighteners, magnetic analysis (rototester), chamfer, Medart, and various saws.
  • Performs mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance, routine and unscheduled maintenance on production, material handling and mobile equipment as well as buildings and ground by means of lubrication, inspection, troubleshooting, rebuilding, installation, repair or replacement
  • Maintains grounds
  • Maintains plant inventory and supplies
  • Other job related duties as directed by Operations Manager or General Manager
  • Cleans and paints machinery and building structures
  • General housekeeping
  • Operates forklifts, cranes and other mobile equipment
  • Assists operators as required
Position Requirements:
• High School Diploma/GED required
  • Previous experience working with steel
  • Ability to read a micrometer/caliper/tape measure/dial indicators preferred
  • Operation Of Equipment: The ability to demonstrate the necessary level of skill and knowledge when operating plant equipment; can quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of equipment to exact position; seldom makes an error when operating equipment.
  • Safety & Compliance: The ability to perform tasks safely to avoid danger to self or others; identifies and informs manager of potential safety issues; performs daily inspections and light maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Candidates will be asked to complete the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment (“Assessment”). To qualify for this position, candidate must attain the minimum raw score in each of the four categories of: Reading = 8, Arithmetic = 7 (if candidate scores 3 or higher, (s)he remains eligible for hire and must successfully complete arithmetic training upon hire), Inspection & Measurement = 6 (if candidate scores 3 or higher, (s)he remains eligible for hire and must successfully complete inspection and measurement training upon hire), and Process Monitoring & Problem Solving = 6.
