Title: Warehouse Manager
Reports to: General Manager or Director of Operations in absence of GM
Facility: Tumwater, WA 98501 Facility
Overview: Airport Drayage’s focus in the market is on engagements with customers where Airport Drayage’s expertise in managing transportation networks and building supply chain solutions across multiple modes brings value to its clients through improved management and measuring of transportation costs and through greater efficiencies that lower overall supply chain costs. Airport Drayage has experienced significant growth through a combination of internally generated new business and through the acquisition of other businesses.
The purpose of this role is to execute on the Airport Drayage Co. strategic goals and direction by leading, directing, and managing the warehouse operations to ensure warehouse team members are empowered and motivated to execute and deliver the facility’s objectives and goals which in turn lead into meeting the division and company’s overall strategic objectives. The position is responsible for a consistent high level of service quality, customer satisfaction, clear and complete communications, profitability and cost-efficient operations as they pertain to warehouse operations.
Duties / Goals:

  • Deliver maximum warehouse revenues and gross margins of Airport Drayage Co.
  • Implement strategies that provide for maximum space utilization while maintaining work flow efficiencies.
  • Meet or exceed the financial objectives for the warehouse operation using the established warehouse operation KPIs to manage associated costs.
  • Manage day to day warehouse operations to provide for long term growth and meeting our projected financial objectives and goals year over year.

1. Implement customer centered solutions to drive growth of Airport Drayage Co.

  • Develop and manage warehouse SOPs (Standard Operational Procedures) that will support growth and profitability goals.
  • Implement and oversee warehouse operations that ensure consistency and quality in level of service provided to our customers.
  • Oversee and manage warehouse personnel to work within the company values and be positive contributors to a productive and healthy cultured environment that promotes growth and sustainability to our company, customers, employees and service providers.
  • Plan and implement service level measures (KPIs) that assess satisfaction levels within our customer base. This information is to be used to improve process where needed and identify internal or external customer growth opportunities.

2. Manage the profitability of Airport Drayage Co. warehouse operations

  • Oversee warehousing operations; including but not limited to unloading, loading, receiving, inventory control and related services, special warehouse related projects, repackaging, labeling, order fulfillment and managing the support systems including equipment, people and processes.
  • Promote the vision, mission, values and overall direction of the AIRPORT DRAYAGE CO. strategic plan as it relates to warehouse operations.
  • Achieve profitability requirements through ongoing management of operations, meeting KPI expectations that drive efficiency into the business while meeting the customer expectations and achieving financial profitability as forecasted for each period measured.
  • Participate as an active member of the AIRPORT DRAYAGE CO. management team, interacting with other members to cooperatively support and assist in achieving Airport Drayage Co. overall goals and profitability targets.
  • Lead and drive employee development, initiative and capability to achieve accountability.
  • Manage staff competence in expected service levels and operational activities to optimize and sustain consistent performance, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide the General Manager with the complete and accurate information as it relates to the business in general but specifically warehousing operations and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Available with access 24/7 as needed by management and direct report employees.
  • Able to manage and lead employees in a way that promotes positive growth for the employees and the business
  • Strong communication skills that are clear and can be adaptive to those receiving the communication.
  • Strong math skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, formulas for multiple calculations such as calculating area, weights and using both metric and imperial system figures.
  • Experience in managing and having responsibility for financial results related to warehouse operations, including revenue opportunities and expenses.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to thrive independently as well as collaborate and contribute as part of a team
  • Customer service and vendor negotiation skills preferred
  • Proficient office skills required: Microsoft Office, email, internet, phone, etc.…
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to build solutions quickly that also limit risk and expense while maximizing any opportunity that may be present.
  • Flexible – change is constant
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must
  • College degree preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
