Overview

As a key member of the Branded Content team, the Video Producer/Manager maximizes the video capabilities of the Communications Department to help increase awareness of, and support for, the Institute’s mission of conquering cancer through research and care. This role helps set video priorities aligned with department goals and produce and manage videos to maximize our digital content strategy. The Video Producer/Manager has overall responsibility for ensuring that Dana-Farber videos exhibit high production values and maintain a consistent voice, visual identity, and brand identity. This role confirms that resources are used to their full potential and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and growth.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Video Management

Establish criteria guiding video production to ensure resources are utilized appropriately
Oversee and manage the video request process, ensuring projects meet established guidelines
Responsible for assigning projects to team members and regularly monitoring their progress to ensure completion
Manage the Dana-Farber YouTube Channel and other video distribution channels, including monitoring metrics/goals around reach/engagement, improving accessibility, and regular review of content for consistency, relevance, and conformity to current best practices.

Video Production

Proactively develop video ideas based on department priorities
Scriptwriting, storyboarding and production coordination of projects for streaming, internal communications, web channels and social media
Develop freelance network of video shooters and editors
Explore untapped opportunities for video, such as additional distribution channels
Manage close captioning process
Assist Senior Videographer in managing comms studio

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May supervise video assistant and/or videography intern(s)

PATIENT CONTACT:
Frequent contact with patients on assignment

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in communications or telecommunications/video/film, or equivalent professional experience required
5 years of experience in professional video production and/or management required
Experience with best practices for video posting on major channels (e.g., YouTube, FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter) required
Familiarity with a range of video shooting, editing, and distribution paths required
Live webcasting experience and/or video strategy experience a plus
Familiarity with content development in a healthcare/hospital setting a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Strong understanding of video process and how to tell a video story
Experience with overall video content strategy as a means of brand awareness/reputation building
Must be highly organized
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and to meet competing deadlines with professionalism; flexibility to prioritize projects and maximize team approach
Ability to manage across teams, without direct supervisory relationships
