The expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $24.05 to $26.40.

This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

About the Position
The Victim Support Program Coordinator manages the notification process to victims to ensure that case notifications are being properly forwarded to provide compliance regarding victim rights. Additionally, they meet with Victims who request personal contact to discuss the harm that juvenile delinquency has caused, review rights, and communicate their desires.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in justice studies, social work, psychology or a closely related field
Experience:
  • 2 (two) years of case management experience with justice-involved populations or victims
Our Preferred Candidate has :
  • Experience advocating in a Justice or Social Work setting
  • Ability to speak and read Spanish
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Court Processes
  • Supervisory practices and principles
Skill in:
  • Using specialized court databases such as iCIS and GMAN
  • Supervising and evaluating assigned staff and coordinating the work of subordinates
  • The use of computer applications, including email, spreadsheets, databases and word processing software
  • Decision making by considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choosing the most appropriate one
  • Verbal de-escalation
  • Report writing and maintaining accurate case documentation
  • Testifying in a court setting
Ability to:
  • Work independently
  • Use effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks at one time with numerous interruptions in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Diffuse emotionally charged individuals so they may focus on remedies available through juvenile court processes
  • Think critically, be accurate, organized and have attention to detail
  • Communicate information and ideas in English, both orally and in writing, so others will understand in a way that is appropriate to the needs of the audience
  • Establish healthy and productive working relationships with others
  • Preserve and protect the confidentiality of all Court information and victims
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

  • Ensures that victims’ rights are being complied with by performing the appropriate case notification(s)
  • Coordinates and participates in the development and implementation of policies to enhance the County’s economic position in relation to the assigned program
  • Prepares daily/monthly any aggregated reports
  • Ensures that program goals and requirements are met in a timely manner
  • Compiles information and resources, performs studies and completes research projects to further the programs objectives and goals
  • Coordinates the activities of the Victim Support Program with other areas as appropriate
  • Responsible for management of any Victims’ Rights alternative funding agreements, grants, and other special projects
  • Develops and oversees appropriate training for unit staff to take over initial functions of the Victim Support Program
  • Acts as a resource to the community by interpreting and disseminating data collected regarding the Victim Support Program
  • Performs supervisory duties for program support staff
  • Serves as a member of the Juvenile Probation Department Management Leadership Team
Working conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and hear; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds.
Judicial Branch facilities are located throughout Maricopa County. This position may be reassigned to other locations. Assignments will be made based upon the needs of the department.
