PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
FRWD@Bain seeks a highly experienced leader with a track-record in developing and inspiring digital (and ideally also in combination with traditional) media and marketing solutions that generate significant impact for brands and businesses across the EMEA region, with experience in the DACH market. A commercially savvy individual who is motivated and inspired by the pace of technological change with the ability to translate that into ‘opportunity’ for our clients.
This person will have a close working relationship with key Bain & Company Partners in selling projects and then managing them to successful outcomes, often directly in a hands-on way with the integrated Bain/FRWD teams. The unique contribution from this role is a convincing dialog brought to C-level client interactions. It needs to be accomplished through sheer depth of knowledge and experience generating great results by applying digital technology, capabilities and skill sets to sizeable business challenges. Bain FRWD VP will have shared responsibility for client relationships and finding the right entry points for FRWD@BAIN related work. They will shape compelling approaches that justify client’s investments, inspire confidence in meetings and be able to project the scale of business impact to convince C-level clients.
Qualifications:
- The person has 15+ years’ relevant experience. This could include growing a large digitally centric media agency and generally having a string of major business successes where a modern agile, iterative approach was core to the outcome.
- A track-record in rapidly building and scaling teams and capabilities across DACH or EMEA is preferred.
- The candidate will be focused on the DACH market while collaborating at EMEA level with different teams and divisions.
- Deep digital marketing expertise around most effective and efficient strategies and execution is required, more so than a brand strategy and creative background (though experience advising on these elements is preferred).
- The candidate will have strong working knowledge of state-of-the-art ecommerce and be able to speak to and direct successful ecommerce activities.
- The ability to assess client organizational strengths and weaknesses, compare to relevant best-practice benchmarks, and recommend solutions to build client internal capabilities around e.g. quality consumer data access and application to the full consumer journey or leveraging technology and data to unlock business growth is essential.
- First-hand experience with different agency and partner models will be a key component of our recommendations, as this person will often lead team recommendations at C-level around in or out-sourcing work, including partner selection and key contract terms, culture and capabilities.
Pivotal experience & expertise
Industry Experience: 1-15 years of experience gained within digital agencies covering high level management roles. Used to win and deliver strategic projects for large corporate clients.
(Digital) Media and Marketing Leadership Experience: Experience leading comprehensive marketing/communications/ digital strategies to advance an organization’s mission or guide a client's transformation. Strong brand development skills and understanding of digital/traditional marketing emerging trends. A knowledge of the state-of-art e-commerce trends is considered nice to have. Exposure to lead.
Team Leadership: Experience in leading a team: building, motivating and developing high performers, with a track record of attracting and leading top talents.
Global Footprint: Experience in executive leadership within a global organization, working with clients globally, and/or working within a complex international company. Ideally has worked in multiple geographies.
