By joining our Equipment Unit as a Transportation Auto/Truck Technician IV in Warren County, you’ll have the opportunity to work as a Technician preforming the more difficult and complicated mechanical repair work and operate various technical machinery and tools.
Holders of the Transportation Auto/Truck Technician IV position will complete tasks such as:

Holders of the Transportation Auto/Truck Technician IV position will complete tasks such as:
- Maintain district wide equipment, including track hoes, dump trucks, loaders, pumps, etc.
- Maintain equipment during snow and ice operations.
- Keep records and prepares reports of work performed.
- Serve as supervisor in absence of Transportation Auto/Truck Technician V.
- CDL License
- Computer skills
- Mechanic skills
- ASE certifications
- CDL or ablity to obtain
- Automotive/truck repair experience
- Experience operating equipment
- Understanding importance of safety and willingness to promote safe work environment.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have seven years of automotive/truck repair technical experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Vocational or technical school training in automotive/truck repair or a related area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Must be ASE certified master technician in medium/heavy truck or automobile test series. http://www.ase.com Employees in this job classification must furnish the agency's appointing authority within six months of employment in the job classification, documentation that he or she possesses a valid Class A commercial driver's license. http://transportation.ky.gov/driver-licensing/pages/commercial- drivers-license-information.aspx Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
