How You'll Perform the Role
- Must be able to set up and line out all Roll Fed and inline equipment in the prescribed amount of time with the prescribed material.
- Must be able to work with less experienced operators training them on the approved safe methods of setting up and operating the machines.
- Contribute to the ongoing effort to update and revise the machine training manuals and JSA’s.
- Must be able to perform basic mechanical basic machine maintenance, repair tasks and P.M.
- Set-up person will be involved in the decision-making process for upgrade and/or replacement of existing machinery.
- Must be able to work closely with the Tooling Department developing improvements and modification to the tools.
- Must be able to work with sales and tool design departments with the purpose of assuring that new tools have been designed to run efficiently on API equipment.
- Must be able to work closely with the Process Engineer, lead person, and the operators and packers with the goal of minimizing set up time, maximizing production efficiency and eliminating scrap.
- Must maintain a clean and safe work area. Set-up person must always be aware of the safety and housekeeping of others working in the area. If there is a problem, the set-up person must notify the lead person or supervisor.
- Must be able to do all tool preparation (including insert changes, plug installation, etc.) before set-up and tear down and disassembly after the production run.
- Must do proper tool inspection and institute tool repair work orders, when necessary, before the tool is stored.
- Must be able to do minor tool repairs (broken bolts, seal rubber, die sharpening, die shimming, etc.)
- Must be able to read product specifications, process documents, and setup documents.
- Must be able to write, explain downtime process changes.
- Basic math skills required – Percentages, fractions, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction.
- Must have or be able to learn basic computer skills.
What We Need From You
- High School diploma or equivalent, with special training in the tooling area.
- Manufacturing knowledge in molding industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, be familiar with various precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, depth and height gages.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
- Work overtime as required.
- Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by management.
- Ability perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.

- Must be able to communicate verbally and written.
- Must be able to calculate scrap, measure downtime, production and labor.
- Must be able to apply torque to wrenches and ratchets, lift tooling dies and associated parts into the machine with human and mechanical assistance, 10% - 25% of the time. Up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to lift cartons onto pallets, 5% - 10% of the time. Up to 35 pounds.
- Must be aware of and follow all safety policies, including use of personal protective equipment, lock out/tag out, housekeeping, hazardous materials, etc
