What this role is…
As the Technology Specialist the primary function of this position is to support and maintain in-house technology equipment and IT assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all corporate hardware and equipment while ensuring its optimal performance.
Your contributions will ensure CITY Furniture remains on the cutting edge of IT Department. The Technology Specialist reports directly to the IT Infrastructure Supervisor.
What you’ll do…
As a Technology Specialist your responsibilities include:
- System Management – Ensures all computer/PC systems are functional. Determines source of computer problems such as hardware, printers, software, user access, etc. Researches error messages and makes corrections as necessary. Manages helpdesk tickets submitted by internal clients.
- Internal Support – Answers staff questions in person, email, and phone on all company supported Hardware/Software applications and assists personnel as a computer resource.
- Computer Monitoring – Operates and monitors computers and peripheral equipment to include; printers, access points, scanners, etc. Maintains warehouse and checks systems to ensure functionality and maintains equipment for the stock pickers.
- Human Resource Management – Provides on-the-job training to new department staff members to help develop them in their position.
- Installations – Performs Hardware and Software installations. Assists anytime there is a need for hardware or software upgrades to assist with job functions.
- Documentation – Documents user submitted tickets and resolutions for future reference.
- Transactions – Prepares documentation for work orders, equipment movement sheets, purchase orders for vendors, return merchandise authorization, and FedEx Shipping
- Other – Assists with other related duties as assigned for the purpose of meeting technology needs of the company.

Location
Corporate office environment, distribution centers and retail showrooms. Travel is minimal and contained within South Florida.
Shift Type
This position is required to work a flexible 40-hour work week. Possible nights and weekend shifts.
What we are looking for….
Education – A+ Certification or an AA degree in MIS or related field
Work Experience – 2 years’ experience installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
