JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and supervises activities for processing, preparation, storage and distribution of food to the patient tray line and cafeteria to ensure quality services is provided to hospital patients, staff and visitors. Coordinates and performs inventory/supply and requisitioning activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Associate degree or equivalent education/experience in food service, restaurant management or related field preferred. Previous management experience desired.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years food service/restaurant or therapeutic diets experience as specialty assignment dictates; preferably in hospital or extended care facility.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge in all phases of food production, storage and distribution.
- Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills in conflict management and issue resolution.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Proven abilities to set priorities and multi-task.
- Experience in a union environment desired.
- Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs., and endure frequent standing and walking.
- Exposure to heat and humidity.
