The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year.
7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months
This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be determined based upon the needs of the department.

Job Summary
As a recipient of a Title V grant (The Avanzar Project), Rio Salado is excited to develop innovative and powerful solutions that will allow us to more effectively engage and support our underserved populations and our Latinx community. This position will be crucial to realizing our vision of building positive outcomes and access to success for these student groups. The candidates awarded this position will be responsible for learning the functions of the college and the roles of its departments in order to be an effective liaison between students and services. Rio Salado is looking for self-driven, motivated individuals who can build and foster relationships with students, stakeholders and staff alike while maintaining communication and advocacy for our underserved students. This position will provide a unique opportunity to act as a change agent and build an environment of hope and access for our students.
Aside from being organized and relationships-oriented, candidates considered for this position must be outgoing, approachable, and passionate about the work. Candidates will need to be solutions-oriented and able to take initiative as well as be able to work in a team/group setting with other stakeholders, faculty, and students.

This is a grant funded position; funding is not guaranteed past the 5-year term of the Title V Grant (September 2027).
Essential Functions
45% - Utilizes coaching practices to serve a caseload of diverse students by providing motivating and informative support, promotes growth and awareness, develops goals, guides students in problem-solving and overcomes obstacles, connects students to the campus community, builds life and leadership skills, boosts self-confidence and sense of self, while fostering a culture of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB)
45% - Responsible for executing all elements of a proactive student outreach strategy for assigned students, including meetings (1:1 and group), phone conversations, emails, texts, and engagement opportunities that are personalized, constructive, motivating, and informative; Interprets and explains policies, procedures, goals, and objectives to students, parents, faculty, and staff; Collaborate with college professionals to promote an inclusive, positive, and student-centered environment
10% - Attends required training; Completes all corresponding administrative tasks associated with the position, other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Desired Qualifications
A. Two (2) years’ professional experience coaching/advising people or ICF credentialed
B. Two (2) years’ experience working within the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging space such as culturally relevant programming, creating an inclusive environment, cultural competency, cultural humility, or deep connections to/knowledge of communities of color
C. Two (2) years’ experience using a proactive outreach approach to serve students/customers which results in increased satisfaction, sense of belonging, and/or goal attainment
D. Two (2) or more years' experience working with digital communication, online productivity tools and databases
E. Strong, positive, and effective written communication skills with the ability and to speak with people from all walks of life and backgrounds (Application materials will be reviewed in this area)
F. Master’s Degree from a regionally-accredited institution
G. Proficiency in speaking and writing in Spanish
H. Understanding of best practices in working with underserved populations in a higher-ed context
Special Working Conditions
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements . Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate’s own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs
