Job Title: Student Activities Coordinator

Job Summary: Southwest University is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Student Activities Coordinator to support the Student Activities Coordinator in developing and coordinating engaging and inclusive student life activities for our 1800 students. The Student Activities Assistant will work closely with the coordinator to plan, organize, and execute a wide variety of events and programs that promote social, cultural, and educational activities that enrich the student experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive student activities program that is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and engaging for all students.
  • Support the planning, organization, and execution of a variety of events, including but not limited to social activities, cultural events, and educational workshops.
  • Collaborate with student organizations, academic departments, and community partners to ensure a diverse and well-rounded range of activities.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the budget for student activities, ensuring that all events and programs are financially viable.
  • Promote events and activities through various channels, including social media, email, and posters, to increase student participation and engagement.
  • Recruit and train student volunteers to assist with planning and executing events.
  • Ensure that all events and activities adhere to university policies and regulations, including safety protocols.
  • Attend and participate in student events to ensure their success and gather feedback for future improvements.

Requirements:

  • Experience in event planning, student affairs, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in student activities programming preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour
