Position Summary
We are looking to hire an entry level Structural engineering CAD technician to generate surface and solid CAD models for our clients. Responsibilities include the layout of construction drawings based on preliminary design plans/models, the adaptation of standard details to projects, detailing of unique conditions, and coordination with other disciplines such as architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, etc. Work will be done under the supervision of an engineer. You may be required to work as part of a team or individually on a project.
To ensure success as a CAD technician, you should have a general working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit. Communication is an essential part of CAD design. Using the computer-generated models and plans, you must work with other team members and departments to assist in meeting timelines and budgets.
REVIT/CAD Designer Skill Requirements:
- Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.
- General understanding of buildings and CAD processes.
- General ability to read and translate construction drawings.
- General knowledge of the company’s preferred software.
- Excellent communication, leadership
- Time management awareness knowledge.
- Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to present information and discuss with engineers.
Experience and Skills:
- An Associate’s degree or REVIT/CAD Certification
- General knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software including Revit
- Structural experience a plus
- 0-3 years’ experience
- Microsoft Office experience including strong Excel skills
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, good organizational traits
- Self-motivated
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
