Spikes and Houles Feed Store in Loretto is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to join our team! The Store Manager must be results driven and passionate, about brand, committed to the happiness and satisfaction of our guests and employees. The Store Manager must be skilled at selling our brand, developing their team members, being an enthusiastic brand ambassador, driving our high standards, and living our values. This is a full-time position requiring flexible availability and key holder responsibilities.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for all in-store operations including, but not limited to:
o Creating and ensuring execution of daily checklists
o Recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, and supervising staff
o Maintaining statistical and financial records; accurate cash handling
o Signage/Marketing Materials up-to-date and presentable.
o Pricing and stock control including planning and executing promotional opportunities and seasonal needs
o Store organization, cleanliness, and overall appearance
o Ensure health and safety compliance
  • Ensuring high levels of customers satisfaction through ensuring a culture of excellent service
  • Developing store strategies to raise customer pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability
  • Respond adeptly to customer requests, comments, and concerns.
  • Meeting sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to store staff
  • Collaboration with buyers for product assessment and inventory management; special orders.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and communicate with HR regarding staffing needs; anticipate staffing needs during peak seasons, create weekly scheduling to meet staffing model and ensure adequate store coverage and back-up.
  • Ensuring OSHA standards of safety are met in collaboration with safety manager and HR.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures, including Loss Prevention guidelines to deter theft.
  • Stock and presentation promoting greenhouse sales, ensure training on greenhouse product maintenance.
  • Provides overrides, performs safe and till counts, and reconciles cash settlements.
  • Other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
1. Proven successful experience as a retail Store Manager
2. Powerful leading skills and business orientation
3. Customer management skills
4. Strong organizational skills
