About Redwood Materials
Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We're doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.
As part of Redwood's Public Policy team, you'll work with state and local policy makers and community members to advocate for Redwood Materials and lobby for policies that promote and protect Redwood's mission. You're passionate about electrification, a circular, domestic supply chain, and the opportunity to build a sustainable future.
In this role, you'll collaborate with public policy makers and community partners to promote an environment in which we can build the first US circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products. You'll inform and engage with state and local officials as well as the public to promote Redwood in the western region. You'll collaborate with policy makers and participate in key trade and local associations that are critical to advancing Redwood's business objectives, and company awareness. From the ground up, you will help build and lead the implementation of strategies and action plans related to this new industry in key states.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working cross-functionally to develop and execute on public policy and government affairs initiatives in support of Redwood Materials.
- Develop and execute on policy and advocacy strategies to support our state and organizational goals.
- Research new opportunities and promote engagement.
- Organize engagement between Redwood team members and community stakeholders to promote and advocate Redwood's public policy policies and benefits to public sector customers and partners.
- Engage with industry associations and policy organizations on behalf of Redwood Materials.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in roles related to working on policy issues with local, state, or public interest groups in California and/or Washington State.
- Experience working in startups or fast-paced environments. Ability to exercise good judgement in rapidly evolving, high-stakes environment.
- Experience with energy, electric vehicles, or supply chain policy issues.
- Ability to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; delivering your thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner

This is a remote role based in California or Washington preferably in the Bay Area or Seattle Area.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
