Duties: Research and design internal programs and products as well as design practice management, including Modern Applications Platforms (MAP) such as VMware Tanzu, a portfolio of products and services for modernizing application and infrastructure to enable customers to deliver better software to production, continuously. Work with the Tanzu Application Platform, which provides a rich set of developer tooling and a prepared path to production to build and deploy software more securely on any compliant public or on-premises Kubernetes cluster. Assist with managing VMware’s Services Portfolio, such as multi-cloud, networking, Anywhere Workspace, app modernization, and security, and its continuous improvement. Ensure that the Services Portfolio has strong market fit by applying skills in lean UX methodologies and product discovery. Pair closely with Product Management to manage services through their lifecycle, identifying needs for new services, as well as identifying signals that services are no longer valuable. Continuously mine insights from actual engagements delivered by the Services Delivery organization that are relevant for the improvement of the Tanzu product portfolio and share these insights back with the Product organization. Ensure a strong system is in place for Solution Discovery, work with teams to discover customer problems, and create valuable, desirable and feasible solutions. Ensure strong feedback loops are in place between sellers, services delivery, customers, partners, and the product team. Participate in continuous work enablement ensuring effective training of on-staff consultants and partners to successfully deliver services. Maintain transparency in communication to ensure stakeholders, including members of Product & Services, are informed of important patterns and insights to enable them to take appropriate action as needed.

Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Interaction Design, Information Technology, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related position. In the alternative, employer will accept Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Interaction Design, Information Technology, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related position.

Employer requires at least five (5) of the following skills gained through industry experience:

• Navigating large organizations, working with complex stakeholder relationships, or translating complex design patterns into simple solutions;
• Product Design including user research, user-centered design, user experience design, interaction, or visual design;
• Facilitating collaborative design activities in a workshop context;
• Collecting and synthesizing data from diverse stakeholders (designers, engineers, product managers, marketers, directors, etc.) into actionable insights;
• Design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Axure, Miro, InVision, or Illustrator;
• Rapid iterative prototyping;
• Web services and tools such as Git, HTML, CSS, Javascript, or Postman.

For CO, NY, CA and WA residents, the salary range for this position is: $192,941 - $277,000/year. The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience.
