Staff Engineer

$65,000-$80,000 DOE
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Civil/Environmental Staff Engineer with 4-6 years of experience in the Fort Worth or McKinney, TX area! The ideal candidate would have competencies in design, installation, construction, monitoring, assessment, regulatory compliance, operations and maintenance of environmental controls and monitoring systems, transfer stations, remediation sites, and other sites requiring environmental mitigation or protection measures. Experience to include collaboration and coordination with senior staff and direction of support staff, some client and regulatory agency interface regarding infrastructure needs, permit applications, regulatory compliance, and business development. The position includes coordination of internal resources, some client relations, presentation preparation, and project management support. AutoCAD experience is required. This position will directly work with senior level staff to facilitate project completion, work with clients, and work with other engineers. The ideal person for this position is interested in a wide variety of project types that integrate multiple disciplines within the civil and environmental fields.
The Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MS Word and Excel.
- EIT required and aspirations to obtain a PE license.
- Design, construction, and installation experience.
- Solid written and oral communication skills to include proposal writing and reporting.
- Experience in Rational, HEC-RAS or HEC-HMS, and SCS hydrological analysis preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills; and
- Travel may be required.

The Responsibilities:
- Support senior project managers in a wide variety of projects, including:
- Development of engineering construction plans and bid documents for grading, drainage systems, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, cell construction, final cover construction, infrastructure construction, liner and leachate collection systems, landfill gas collection systems, and utilities. Use of AutoCAD packages to design projects.
- Developing of detailed computer models to evaluate the following: slope stability; geotechnical settlement; regional hydrology; stream hydraulics; leachate generation; contaminate fate and transport; traffic flow and patterns.
- Preparation of permit applications, permit modifications, technical reports, and CQA reports for federal, state, and local agencies.
- Permitting and civil site design for Transfer Stations, Material Recycling Facilities, and Gas-To-Energy Plants.
- Construction observation and documentation (field work, generally local, but some travel and overnight stays including weekends may be required).
- Assisting clients in resolving compliance issues.
- Analyzing technical data and preparing technical reports.
- Site development, cost estimating, life of site, and airspace management planning.
- Coordinate document preparation.
- Respond to client questions and needs.
- Oversee and prepare technical reports.
- Proposal preparation support.
- Effective communication with colleagues and superiors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
