As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will provide technical writing support for Blue Origin Quality System documentation. The Technical Writer will be responsible for the coordination, scheduling, development, revision, and release of all policies, procedures, work instructions, supplemental documentation, and manuals within the Blue Origin Quality System.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical writing expertise, communication, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Responsibilities:
- Determines the type of documentation that will best serve the project requirements
- Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards
- Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
- Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various Business Units, and Programs, and Functional Groups to understand requirements
- Meet with document authors, process owners, and leadership to learn about and develop specific processes and documentation needs
- Submit final documents for release in Blue Origin’s configuration management system
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience to successfully perform the essential functions of this role
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must have the ability to remain flexible in a dynamic working environment
- Must have experience writing and editing policies and procedures
- Ability to present to Blue Origin leadership
- Ability to fill in for Sr. Program Manager with high level leadership meetings as needed
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be able to work with all Business Units, and Programs, and Functional Groups at Blue Origin to get input and approval for Quality System document updates
- Obsession with quality, customer experience, and attention to detail coupled with ability to think abstractly
- Must be able to provide a writing sample if selected for an interview
Desired:
- 3-5 years of experience writing corporate policy, procedure, and work instruction documentation
- Experience with aerospace and/or commercial space documentation
- Understanding of Windchill
- Previous Project Management experience
