Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems
has an opening for a Principal or Senior Principal Liaison/MRB Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Sedro-Woolley, WA (relocation assistance is available, this is not a remote position). Current clearance preferred but not required.


Job Summary:
The Liaison/MRB Engineer will interface with multiple suppliers and stakeholder groups (such as Structural Analysis, Materials & Processing and Manufacturing personnel) in the design center and build facilities. Will be responsible for dispositioning discrepant material tags. Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must. Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System, MES, and a Northrop Grumman MRB EN signature is a plus. The successful candidate will have experience with designing repairs for discrepant detail parts and assemblies fabricated from composite materials.

This requisition may be filled as either a Principal Engineer (level 3) or Senior Principal Engineer (level 4, preferred) based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5+ related professional/military experience; OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of related professional/military experience

  • Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9+ years related professional/military experience; OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 7+ years of related professional/military experience

  • Hands-on experience in a composites manufacturing facility

  • Experience with military specs and standards

  • Experience with repair processes for composite materials used in aerospace structures

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current active Secret clearance or higher

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering

  • Current NGAS MRB buyoff authority. "EN".

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Experience interfacing with a military customer



Salary Range: $112,300 USD - $168,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
