We have an exciting opportunity for an Electro/Mechanical Technician to join our team located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs or assists in fabrication, modification, assembly, installation, operations, and build to print of moderately complex assemblies and wire harnesses.
- Under modest supervision: Fabricates, assembles, modifies, and installs laboratory equipment, experimental apparatus, or commercial hardware of moderate complexity.
- Identifies operation or equipment problems and reports deficiencies.
- Skilled in pipe fitting, tube bending and compression fittings. Bends and forms stainless steel tubing to meet Engineering drawings.
- Operates a variety of power and hand tools such as drill press, taps, grinders, tube benders/cutters, torque wrenches and measuring devices.
- Skilled in hoisting and rigging practices using cranes and powered lift trucks.
- Work with or on assemblies where radioactive materials are present.
- May travel to support other company sites as required.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires associate's degree or equivalent with seven or more years of experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, demonstrate the ability to remain flexible when tasked to work on various product lines that utilize a variety of skillsets.
- Must demonstrate full working knowledge of general manufacturing practices and understanding of a safe work environment.
- Must possess the ability to grasp new concepts quickly and work with general supervision; the ability to read and interpret sketches, schematics, blueprints, drawings and other engineering documentation; the ability to use basic laboratory equipment; the ability to identify problems, and collect and analyze data; good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and assess situations; and good knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field.
- Must have a complete understanding of ESD prevention and best practices.
- IPC620 and J-standard-001 certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance is desired.
