This position will be responsible for preparing monthly financial reporting for assigned departments and entities for Resort Operations and Property Management. Accountable for performing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations related to the month-end closing process, including the P&L review for variance explanations and monthly reviews with operational leaders. Responsible for preparing cost of sales calculations, reviewing, and analyzing results related to cost of sales. Preparing reports for Senior Leadership review and preparing schedules for external audit. Performs assigned accounting functions requiring in-depth knowledge of the company's structure and agreements with third-party vendors. Provides input on key change initiatives in accounting and financial reporting to provide the Resort Ops with better service cost-effectively. Identifies trends and recommends improvements, accordingly, including recommendations regarding cost savings. This position works under general supervision and exercises independent judgment in carrying out duties. The position also assists with special projects and any assigned tasks as deemed necessary by Management. This position will be responsible for collaborating with various accounting departments to formalize monthly financial review procedures, reconciliation procedures, internal controls, and assist with various filing/reporting deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare, review, and oversee monthly reconciliations, perform research and/or assists other team members on researching complex ledger accounts to minimize risk and protect company assets and document the findings for management.
  • Create and record complex journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and with respective supporting documentation with an understanding of the financial statement impact.
  • Perform comprehensive research and analysis. Use financial & accounting acumen to analyze and interpret data and make recommendations on accounting treatment of various business transactions.
  • Development, implement and ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures. Establish “Best Practices” and formulate/document solutions as it relates to creating efficiencies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business area required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Timeshare / Hospitality industry experience a plus
  • Proficient in Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be detail-orientated and can prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral).
  • Ability to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to establish productive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude.

The hybrid schedule is; Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday in Office and Thursday and Friday is work from home.
