Shipping/Receiving Manager
Anchor Fabrication, a world class metal fabrication company located in LaVergne, TN is seeing an experienced Shipping/Receiving Manager to join our team. This position oversees and manages all aspects of the Shipping/Receiving Department, including employees and drivers to make sure all shipments are timely and accurately and incoming shipments are unloaded expediently and maintain inventory accuracy.
General Job Duties:
The position is required to lead the following activities:
- Create manifests and picking slips for the ERP system
- Stage, prepare and load shipments for transport to our Denton, TX facility and customers.
- Inventory management (Count and rotation).
- Other duties as assigned and as needed to manage the area.
- Assure accuracy and on time delivery for all shipments
- Receive in-coming shipments from all suppliers, vendors, etc.
- Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities of the shipping area.
- Develop daily safety checklists to make sure all shipping equipment is in good working order.
- Schedule inbound and outbound shipments to prevent loading and unloading backup issues.
- Manage shipping and receiving personnel including disciplinary measures and annual reviews.
- Perform shipping duties of partial shipments (UPS, Fed Ex, Amazon, DHL, customer replacements, etc.)
Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- Bachelor Degree (Preferred)
- 2 years of experience in a Shipping/Receiving supervision role.
- Must be forklift certified and have prior forklift experience
- Strong knowledge of people management.
- Solid understanding of industrial safety regulations and practices.
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Fantastic organizational and leadership skills.
- Must be familiar with MS Office Systems (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools.
- Great time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
