Job Summary:

Under direct supervision prepare goods for outbound shipments according to pre-established guidelines and city and state standards. Including some woodwork building crates and pallets specifically for outbound shipments. Record shipment data including weight, charges, and space availability. Provide internal departments with shipping information and coordinate all shipments with shipping coordinator. This employee will be knowledgeable in the operation of the postage, ups and FedEx machines. This employee will also be required to do any and all tasks deemed necessary by his/her supervisor for the safe and efficient operation of the company.

Essential Functions:

• Some woodwork building pallets using power tools, saws and other hand tools. Package products to protect during shipment; shrink wrap, palletize, box, and label shipments

• Record shipments to properly monitor and track delivery • Verify parts and components with packing slip and BOM before shipping

• Ensure each part is labeled correctly and free of blemishes and debris and damage
• Sort customer orders, pick products from various inventory locations, and verify product information
• Communicates daily progress and issues to the shipping coordinator or Supervisor in a timely manner
• Update internal departments on shipping information as requested
• Restock shipping materials and supplies in accordance to shipping bin standards
• Maintain shipping and warehouse areas in a clean and orderly manner
• Review shipment information: count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
• Load and secure packaged shipments onto flat beds using forklifts, straps, hoists, and other equipment
• Build pallets, boxes and other necessary material required to safely ship products
• Ensure shipments are secure and safe by using shipping standard operating
• Make deliveries under direct supervision of other shipping department personnel
• Must be able to differentiate between many products and parts which appear similar and located in close proximity, one to the other
• Must be able to work with various personalities while maintaining cooperative working relationships
• Responsible for maintaining safe work practices within the department
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• 0-2 years of relevant warehouse experience Knowledge

Pay offered will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and geographic location. We may pay more or less than the range based on the person’s qualifications.
