ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

Shift Leader - Juvenile Detention Center

DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Judiciary - Court Services

HIRING RANGE: Morning Shift - $23.91-$26.56/hour based on
education and position related experience.
Evening/Midnight Shift - $24.91-$27.56/hour
based on education and position related
experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 40 hours/week (Schedule to be determined)

LOCATION OF POSITION: Elkhart County Correctional Complex

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Within County (please complete driving page on application)

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising and directing assigned staff, ensures operations comply with policy and procedures, and provides direct care supervision and program services to a designated group of residents.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate or equivalent and at least 2.5 years’ experience in a child/youth serving agency; Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice or human service delivery preferred
• Must obtain proper certifications within first 6 months of employment and maintain those certifications
• Valid Drivers’ License
• Hepatitis B Vaccine Eligible
• Pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical exam required
