Highway Construction Inspectors:

RK&K is offering a signing bonus of up to $2,000 for each new hire! Transportation Construction Inspector, Senior Inspectors (TCI, TCIS, TCM)

RK&K is currently seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors, Senior Inspectors (TCI, TCIS, TCM) for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and Municipal highway and bridge projects throughout the greater Philadelphia and King of Prussia areas. RK&K also hires those with related experience such as contractor, military, and surveyor experience.

Essential Functions:

• Provide construction support including inspections and monitoring to ensure proper materials and processes are in compliance with project specifications
• Provide materials testing and document using proper reporting/recordkeeping procedures
• Use mobile devices to document work - as required in North Carolina
• Review drawings to prepare for the inspection - Understand the design of the construction that will be inspected
• Conducts field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation as well as other contract administration documentation
• Inspects work zones for proper traffic control setup, erosion control devices and maintenance thereof, utility coordination and right-of-way issue resolution

Job Requirements:

• Three (3)+ years of inspection experience including roadway and structures
• Working knowledge of PennDOT manuals, policies and procedures
• Working knowledge of standard construction methods, materials, standards, and specifications
• Appropriate Degrees can be substituted for experience
• Ability to use an electronic tablet and computer and Microsoft Office products required
• Ability to navigate construction sites in different types of terrain and weather conditions
• Ability to work day and/or night shift, based on the type of operation taking place
• Ability to multitask project assignments and to work independently with limited daily oversight
• Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with staff, clients, and contractors
• Applicants must have their own vehicle and a valid driver’s license

Preferred, not required:

• NICET Highway Construction Level 2 or higher
• NECEPT Asphalt Field Certification
• ACI/PennDOT Concrete certification
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred, not required
• Experience using PennDOT ECMS v3 and PPCC
• Experience performing field inspections for various roadway and bridge construction projects preferred
