We focus all hiring efforts in a few states and within driving distance of an office location to enable in-person collaboration when and where possible. Priority hiring locations are Scottsdale, AZ, Illinois, NY tri-state metro area (New Jersey, New York and Connecticut) and San Francisco, CA. On exception we will hire in secondary locations such as District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. We are not actively recruiting in Colorado, Rhode Island or Washington.

Overall Purpose
Responsible for evaluating an organization's business needs in a particular area and determining how IT can support those needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure. The Sr Solution Architect will create the resulting architecture artifacts and be responsible for technology lifecycle of the solution. A Sr Solution Architect is expected to be a subject matter expert for the area they cover and act as a mentor and leader to engineering teams in that area.
Essential Functions
- Support multiple major initiatives simultaneously as a Solution Architect.
- Own technical decisions, creation of architectural artifacts and technical designs for the assigned projects.
- Contribute to day-to-day technology decisions for multiple assigned engineering teams including making decision on best path to achieve requirements and schedules.
- Own the quality of modules being delivered, ensure proper testing and validation processes are followed.
- Ensure the solution architectures are in line with the enterprise strategies and principles
- Identify cross-product patterns and suggest reference architectures in line with overall architecture
- Define, measure and disseminate EA metrics and KPI to Lead Engineers.
- Ensure the solution development, release and operational teams have the proper tools and training for success
- Collaborate with other Solution Architects, business and technology groups to identify the necessary designs and non-functional requirements for each solution.
- Observe the performance production architectures to discover patterns, bottlenecks and opportunities for increasing efficiency and reducing waste
- Communicate progress of module development with leadership.
- Provide leadership when called upon to assist in incident management for production.
- Be accountable for a portfolio of technology from an Enterprise Architecture practice perspective for rationalization of technology, evaluating and tracking technical debt, and creating technology roadmaps.
- Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 or more years of progressive experience in a technology role, including 5 or more years as an Architect
- Technical expert with multiple years of experience leading architecture definition, detail designs, testing, and development in multiple languages (certification or extensive documented experience)
- Professional interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-performance, distributed, massively scalable and highly available architectures
- TOGAF, FEAC or other EA certification
- Mobile Applications Development (iOS, Android, others)
- Web based portal development
- APIs Gateway experience
- Microservice Architecture deployment
- Domain-Driven Design
- Streaming analytics
- Experience in architecting Cloud based solutions and certification of training in cloud skills.
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, LEAN etc) and DevOps practices
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
