Senior Computer Vision Engineer (Shelfview)

Scandit is a high-growth tech scaleup from Switzerland with offices in Zurich, Boston, Warsaw, London, Tampere, Tokyo and Singapore. (This is a remote role.)

At Scandit, we are developing smart data capture technology that enables smart devices to capture data from barcodes, IDs, text and objects. Our newest product is called ShelfView, which is a platform for machine learning-powered retail shelf analytics that enables efficient store operations. For example, we keep track of prices and product locations based on data recorded by autonomous floor scrubbers or mobile devices. For more information, please check our product website.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join the ShelfView team and work on computer vision topics. Together with other team members, you will be responsible for evolving our current product by adding new features and optimizing the existing offering. You will work on computer vision and deep learning algorithms, on topics such as OCR, object recognition, 3D reconstruction and visual tracking.

What You Will Do

• Solve challenging geometric mapping, image stitching or product and text recognition problems for our retail shelf monitoring solution
• Contribute to or lead the development of new features for our ShelfView solution
• Optimize our existing cloud processing pipelines
• Extend our product offering to run in real-time and on the edge
• Help build automated testing and QA systems to guarantee robustness, speed and consistency of our product offering
• Contribute to, review and optimize our existing Python codebase

Who You Are

• MSc or PhD degree in computer science or a related field
• Practical experience in computer vision, image processing and machine learning
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering for product development
• In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms, for example relating to 3D reconstruction, feature extraction, image stitching or object recognition
• Solid knowledge of data structures, object-oriented programming and software engineering principles
• Proficiency with one or more scripting languages, preferably Python
• Experience building large-scale cloud solutions is a plus
• Experience in C++ is a plus
• An open and communicative personality, thorough and with attention to detail
