Senior Compensation Director

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop and manage a team of high-performing compensation and compliance professionals that provide and deliver results-oriented solutions to key stakeholders in Human Resources and senior leadership.
  • Design, develop, implement, and administer broad-based and executive compensation programs for Amentum, aligning desired outcomes with data to enable evidence-based discussions and decision-making.
  • Evolve and execute a compensation strategy that is fully aligned with Amentum’s strategic objectives and culture. Ensure strategy optimizes internal equity and external competitiveness, and supports the attraction, motivation, recognition, and retention of high performing talent.
  • Implement, iterate, and scale compensation and rewards programs based on the changing needs of the business. Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation plans, policies, guidelines, and procedures. Lead the revision, development, and implementation of necessary changes to align with our global business and evolving strategic objectives.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in the development of annual incentive compensation and other incentive plans, oversight of rewards plans and plan design, annual compensation planning, job architecture and career pathing, market analyses, global compensation budget guidelines, and other related areas.
  • Support reporting requirements, analyses and metrics for Executive Leadership, Compensation Committee, and/or Owners.
  • Participate as a key team member in business development and M&A transactions; and provide subject matter expertise and engagement in support of BD and M&A activities.
  • Keep current on compensation training, practices, trends, and compliance matters to provide a high level of expertise to the business.
  • Remain knowledgeable on updated Human Resources/Employment laws, regulations, and plan design trends, ensuring that the organization's policies and programs conform and are competitive.
  • Oversee team responsible for EEO and AAP reporting and other compliance requirements. Assess degree of participation, adherence to policies, and achievement of goals and timetables.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Accounting, Payroll and Legal to ensure regulatory compliance for Compensation and Compliance related programs.
  • Lead and maintain accuracy of employee data for analysis, regulatory compliance, reporting and distribution. Support company metrics as well as perform trend analyses.
  • Oversee and participate in Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and other compliance audits.
  • Develop and sustain appropriate controls to maintain and report on HR information.
Qualifications
  • 18+ years of compensation experience with a history of increasing responsibility in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven managerial experience as a senior level compensation leader.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Math, Human Resources, or related field of study or additional equivalent work experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical/analytical thinking abilities. Ability to manage end-to-end processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. Experience presenting analyses to management and ability to lead and drive initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively interface with senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities with an ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations as it relates to Compensation and Compliance.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Expert knowledge of total rewards principles and techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation and compliance employment related federal, state, and local government laws and regulations.
  • Experience in the government contracting industry and international experience – highly preferred.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Global Remuneration Professional (GRP)-preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed (position can be remote).
