Meagher + Geer, P.L.L.P. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team in downtown Minneapolis in the City Center. We are a Minneapolis-based law firm with additional offices in Scottsdale, Bismarck, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas. Please visit meagher.com for more information.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate semi-monthly equity partner distributions.
  • Calculate and enter non-month end journal entries.
  • Verify and approve payrolls.
  • Maintain daily cash spreadsheet.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Maintain fixed assets and calculate monthly depreciation.
  • Complete month end journal entries.
  • Complete month end balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors and tax return preparers.
  • Delegate financial responsibilities to the accounting team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; or 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficient skills using Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Full time Monday through Friday. Medical, dental and vision plans; retirement plan, reduced fare bus/train pass. Business casual attire with Friday casual day. Background and reference checks conducted on final candidates. For consideration send a cover letter and a resume.

Pay: Up to $90,000.00 per year
