(Seasonal) Weekend Chaperone

POSITION SUMMARY:
Each summer, Cincinnati Ballet’s Otto M. Budig Academy hosts students from across the country at our six-week Summer Intensive training program. Housing opportunities for students traveling to the area are provided at a local university and the Otto M. Budig Academy is in search of Weekend Chaperones for activities throughout the summer of 2023 (June 24, 2023 – July 23, 2023). Within this role, chaperones are responsible for the care and wellness of students attending off-campus events and activities. Weekend Chaperones supervise resident students in off-campus activities including major amusement and community venues in the greater Cincinnati area.
- Potential dates of service include June 21, 24, 25, and July 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 12, 15,16, 22, and 23. Candidate need not be available for all chaperone dates. Please indicate dates of availability in your application and cover letter.
This position would be well suited for candidates who:
- Has previous student chaperoning experience is preferred.
- Has prior experience in customer care and the supervision of students or children.
- Has a strong commitment to the protection and safety of minors.
- Has excellent organizational skills.
- Is comfortable enforcing disciplinary action.
- Is flexible, has a positive attitude and superior customer service.
- Attention to detail, highly responsible, strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
- Is self-motivated, independent worker with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Has a general understanding of dance and/or theater environments preferred.
COMPENSATION
- Starting at $14.00 per/hour
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Chaperone students on weekend outings and ensure their safety and well-being from pick-up through drop-off at the residence hall.
- Establish ground rules for weekend trips and designate group sizes and expectations.
- Account for and distribute event tickets to students.
- Account for and distribute monetary vouchers for student lunches, if outings occur during lunch hours.
- Act as first responder for all student emergencies and get in touch with student emergency contacts and Student Services Manager in the event of an incident.

KEY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Must be 18 years of age or older at the program start date.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and attitudes and an ability to communicate with a wide spectrum of individuals.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate will be subject to criminal background, motor vehicle and credit checks.
- COVID-19 vaccinated.
EXPECTED WORK HOURS AND TRAVEL:
- Travel as appropriate to complete job tasks.
