Responsibilities*

1. Research using multi-spacecraft observations on solar wind and solar wind - magnetosphere interaction, especially focusing on ICME sheath structuring and their geoeffectiveness.

2. Research utilizing the Space Weather Modeling Framework and Vlasiator simulations, with focus on the details of solar wind drivers and their impacts in geospace. Development and documentation of quantitative analysis methods for the simulation data.

3. Interact with graduate students focusing on similar research topics.

Required Qualifications*

1. Proficiency in coding in python, matlab, and unix scripting. Ability to use University of Michigan, NASA and NSF supercomputing facilities.

2. Ph.D. in Space Sciences with a detailed understanding of magnetosphere and solar wind and their coupling.

3. Proven track record in original research and publishing the research results in scientific journals.

Desired Qualifications*

1. Experience of the Space Weather Modeling Framework and/or how to run large simulations.

2. Experience with a variety of different space physics data sets and comfort in the analysis of these.
