Hours: 6am – 4pm Monday through Friday and 24 Hour On-Call

Job Summary:

The Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator’s primary purpose is to administer and assist in regulatory compliance while promoting a culture of safe, healthy behaviors and work practices through proactive engagement by providing continuous learning and safety improvement opportunities in a team environment. A successful Coordinator should demonstrate a detailed knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations with strong leadership skills and possess excellent communication and training skills with an acute eye for detail.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide HS&E support to all field personnel and supervisors.
  • Assess jobsites to determine if the scope of work can be performed safely.
  • Assist operations personnel in the development of Site-Specific Safety plans and Job Hazard Analyses as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance of employees and contractors at job sites with HS&E regulations and company policy.
  • Stop Work where violations of HS&E policy or regulation can be seen and consult with operations personnel to council employees and contractors as appropriate.
  • Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks with employees.
  • Conduct field and site inspections and audits to verify compliance with HS&E regulations and company policy.
  • Maintain DOT compliance for all vehicles and drivers.
  • Write incident and accident reports with follow up investigation and root cause analysis as needed.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Safety Certifications or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health preferred.
  • Two years of HS&E experience in the construction field preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, EPA and other governmental regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge in ISN, Veriforce, Avetta, PEC and other online compliance programs preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or driving in a vehicle.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each area at the organization’s facilities.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional Travel to Field Offices and Out of Area Locations.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Estimated Salary of $65K - $75K dependent on experience.
