Location: 1630 Commanche Avenue , Green Bay, WI 54313

Shift Hours:

Full-Time 0.90 FTE (36 hours/week), Typically 3 12-hr shifts per week. Department hours are 8-8. Every third weekend. Rotating holidays 8-4.

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for providing quality professional nursing care to patients and their families and significant others adhering to the WI Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Code of the WI Board of Nursing, and/or appropriate nursing standards governing nursing in the state of practice, the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and Bellin Health Policies and Procedures. The responsibility includes providing a safe environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for the patient. Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred. (Note: The Bachelor’s degree may be required for identified RN positions as indicated by an asterisk. For those specified areas/positions, the requirement may only be waived for existing Diploma and Associate Degree in Nursing RNs as determined by leadership.)

Certification/Registration/Licensure: RN license in the state of practice required (RN must practice under the law and regulations governing nursing in the state of practice). Certification encouraged in job specialty.

CARDIAC REHAB: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire or within six months of hire.

CSSU: ACLS required upon hire or within six months of hire.

DIGESTIVE HEALTH SERVICES: ACLS required upon hire or within six months of hire. Completion of nursing certification within one year of eligibility highly encouraged.

EMERGENCY SERVICES*: ACLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required upon hire or within six months of hire.

ICU* and CATH LAB*: ACLS required upon hire or within six months of hire. PALS highly encouraged for ICU.

MATERNITY: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required upon hire or within six months of hire

EXCEPT Mother-Baby Nurses and Outreach Educators.

MATERNITY, LABOR & DELIVERY*: NRP required upon hire or within six months of hire EXCEPT Mother-Baby Nurses and Outreach Educators.

MATERNITY, NURSERY: NRP required before the end of orientation EXCEPT Mother-Baby and Outreach Educators.

OCONTO MEDICAL: ACLS required upon hire or within six months of hire.

ONCOLOGY SERVICES: Cancer or job role-specific nursing certification by an accredited certification program required within three years of hire or ongoing education evidenced by earning 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours for each three-year accreditation cycle until certification is obtained. ACLS required upon hire or within six months of hire.

PEDIATRICS: PALS required upon hire or within six months of hire.

PERIOP: ACLS and PALS required upon hire or within six months of hire. Completion of surgery nursing certification within one year of eligibility highly encouraged.

PRIMARY STROKE CENTER (PSC) CERTIFICATION: Core Stroke Team members and nursing staff assigned to the PSC (Cardiac Unit, Clinical Decision Unit, Emergency Department, Inpatient Rehab, Intensive Care Unit, Medical Unit, Nursing Services, Ortho/Neuro and Surgical Unit) shall require no less than eight hours of education and training regarding the care of acute stroke patients on an annual basis. (This is not an individual certification but an educational requirement for Bellin to maintain their Primary Stroke Center Certification (PSC)). Nursing staff not directly assigned to the PSC shall receive education on “Code Stroke” policies, as well as basic emergency care of acute stroke patients annually.

SURGERY and CARDIAC SURGERY*: ACLS required upon hire or within six months of hire. Completion of nursing certification within one year of eligibility highly encouraged.

Experience: BPC Intake Only: Five years of RN psychiatric experience of which three need to be in a charge/supervisory role required.
